Philadelphia Council of Clergy is honored to bestow The Martin Luther King Honor the Dreamers, Lifetime Achievement Award to Rev. Dr. Lorina Marshall-Blake on January 18, 2021.
"Rev. Dr. Lorina Marshall-Blake is president of the Independence Blue Cross Foundation, leading strategic, programmatic, and operational efforts to fulfill the Foundation’s mission to lead sustainable solutions that improve the health and wellness of the community. While overseeing grant-making work for the $90 million Foundation, Marshall-Blake steered the Foundation to be a collaborator, innovator, convener of diverse organizations, and thought leader in addressing emerging health needs in southeastern Pennsylvania."
"Marshall-Blake has 35 years of experience in corporate management, public relations and communications. In addition to her corporate responsibility, Marshall-Blake exhibits a strong commitment to the community, serving as an associate minister at the Vine Memorial Baptist Church. She is also affiliated with over 30 other professional and civic organizations, including the United Negro College Fund, Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, Federal Affairs Committee, Urban Affairs Coalition and the Governor’s Patient Safety Authority. She is also affiliated with 2000 African American Women, the Community College of Philadelphia, National Coalition of 100 Black Women, and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Marshal-Blake earned a B.A. in human services from Antioch College and an M.A. in government administration from the University of Pennsylvania."
